Xander just stormed into the house
X: MOM!!! We've got an emergency!
Me: Why? What happened!?
X: There is a fire in the mountain, with hot lava and it's coming straight for our village! {said with over enthusiasm and lots of hand gestures and facial expressions.}
Me: O no. {Relieved that everything is fine and he's just playing with his friends}
X: Ya! You gotta come see Mom. I think we need to go to China.
outside:
X: Mom, you gotta make noculars (binoculars) with your hands and look up at that mountain. Do you see all that smoke coming down?
Me: I see the shadows in the mountain. Is that what you mean?
X: No, mom. That is lava and it's headed straight for our village. I think you need to call the fire fighters.
Me: Well, I'm sure it's ok. It's far away and I think they'll get to it before it hits our house.
X: O good, cuz I don't want to move to China.
I was cracking up. This kid was so serious and was truly worried we'd have to go to China to escape the lava coming to our village.
Funny.
