one super long, all-inclusive, really big post

To start with where we ended...

JULY 28th: XANDER'S BIRTHDAY

The Nielsen's came over so we could all go to dinner and they gave him a Spider Man web slinger. It was pretty cool. You can shoot water, or a web (silly string) out of it.

He chose to eat dinner at the Pizza Factory because he wanted to get a birthday pizza

And when we got back he got to open up Aunt Maymie's present which was an Iron Man toy! He likes to shoot people.

JULY 30th: BIRTHDAY PARTY

We invited some boys from the neighborhood and some from Primary and they got to come to Super Hero Training Camp. I made all the capes (with some last minute help from mom) and when they got there they got to decorate their marshmallow shooters - which were a BIG hit! We then had an obstacle course...

they had to end with shooting a balloon

Then we found out that Dr. Doom had taken the cupcakes, so we had to go on a scavenger hunt to find them

they were in the microwave..."that was silly" Xander said.

Here is Jace's homemade pinata...seriously...

He made 3 of them and the kids got away with a TON of candy

present time

blowing out his #4 candle. He's so big!

After the guests went home the boys took turns dressing up

August 7th: SQUISH TURNS 9 MONTHS!

This is how I find her some mornings...she likes to have sleepovers with her brother :)

Favorite toy: fly swatter (don't worry...it's never been used)

This is not the best picture, but she makes this face (usually minus the closed eyes) when something surprises her. It cracks me up.

always get in her diaper bag and empties it

such a cheeser...knows when she's getting her picture taken

loves to play with her diapers

more Taya facts:
  • crawls!!! (7/26)
  • says "Mama" (7/19)
  • spits...and thinks she's so funny for doing it (7/30)
  • always babbles. Mostly says gaga or makes a K sound or makes a gurgle noise
  • 9 month check up 18.15 lbs (51%) 28 1/4" (74%) 42 cm head
  • eating all solids now
  • stands up on things (8/17)
  • such a mama's girl!
  • loves watermelon
  • going to be a big sister
  • happy girl...all the time
  • has to fall asleep by herself...no snuggling
  • starting to play well by herself
  • scrounges for food on the floor
  • has her 2 bottom teeth
  • fits in 12 month clothes because she's so tall
  • scrunches her nose and breathes through it...so funny
  • always puts her feet up when she's sitting...she likes to relax

August 10th SUMMIT COUNTY FAIR

We weren't go to the fair this year, but Xander has insisted since last year that he ride the sheep again. Last year it didn't go very well. The sheep jumped (which I didn't know they did, but they can jump pretty high) and Xander fell off and it was dramatic. You can check it out here. This year he was determined to do better.

So he got some coaching from dad

And then he was off...
Photobucket

So proud of himself for not crying...and getting first place!!! (not really, every kid gets a ribbon.)

We didn't get Aliyah signed up for a sheep. She said she wanted to ride it, but we all know she would've chickened out. So, grandma signed her up for the barrel races. I thought it was an actual race, but they just got on stick horses and ran around buckets. O well. She got M & M's. :)

So worn out from the excitement that he fell asleep on the way home

August 11th: DAY AT THE FAIR

Taya was super tired and didn't last long. I love how she puts her feet up on the tray.

We found a clown who was making stuff out of balloons. So, Aliyah got a princess hat.

And Xander got a sword

we also got our faces painted...rainbow

dragon

August 12th: JACE AND I WENT TO THE RODEO.

We never get pics of ourselves. It was fun, but kind of lame. There were hardly any cowboys there and the ones that were didn't do very well. :(

August 13th: 5K & PARADE

No pics of the 5K. But I did it!!! I ran the whole thing! I barely made it though and at the end I feel like I could've been walking faster, but I didn't stop. I crossed with a time of 32:51. (A personal best.) I know...slow. An 80 year old woman passed me at mile 1. O well. Jace did great and ran the whole thing too. He got a time of 24 minutes. Jalee, her friend, and Jeanette ran it as well. I had a hard time walking the rest of the day, but o well.

Here we are at the parade. We got LOADS of candy!

August 15: ALIYAH STARTS PRE-SCHOOL!!!

I can't believe it's started already. She's going 3 days a week starting at 8:30 AM. (That is mighty early.) She is going to the Community Center this year and we are super excited for all she gets to do. On Mondays she does Karate, Wednesdays - Gymnastics, Fridays - alternates between swimming, Zumba, and rock climbing. She also gets to do sign language, cooking, and yoga.

Aliyah with her teacher, Miss Jeni

And that's where we're at now. Aliyah will be turning 5 in a week and a half and we'll be having a fashion birthday party for her. So right now we are preparing for that.
