a question

Yesterday I was out of the house for a bit and came home to Aliyah sitting on the repenting bench. After some inquiry here's what I found out happened:  Jace went to check on the kids and found Aliyah and one of her little friends coloring with crayons ALL over the stucco in the back of the house.  Lovely, no?

When Aliyah had been in time out for a long time Jace finally went to talk to her.  This is what she said: "Well, the thing is, is I just know that Mom won't let me color, so I thought that if I colored outside then she wouldn't see it."  (She got grounded from crayons because she's been coloring where she shouldn't.  As you can see...)

There are 2 columns attached to the roof.  Don't worry, they didn't leave that out...

This table had been colored on before (hence the grounding of Aliyah from crayons), but they took it a little above what it had been.

O, and don't think that the cement was left untouched either...it wasn't.

So, here's my question...Does anyone know what gets crayon out of stucco and cement?  Aliyah has some MAJOR scrubbing to do.

girls night out at Tuacahn

Monday night some friends and I decided to take our girlies to see The Little Mermaid at Tuacahn.  We met up for some ice cream at Krave and then headed off.  It was a long night (the play didn't start til 8:15), but I was surprised Aliyah made it through the entire thing.  I think it helped that she was sitting next to Laken, so they stayed awake talking through almost the whole thing.  I don't even know how many times I had to tell Aliyah to be quiet.  But they all had fun, and got a LOT of attention for their adorable outfits.

I wanted to get a picture of Aliyah and I, since it was a "Mommy/Aliyah date".  It took us a few tries.

Hallie and Melissa

We had to go back and get a picture of Aliyah as Ariel because she wasn't so thrilled with being Eric with all the girls.

We had a super fun night.  Aliyah was so pooped she fell asleep on the way home.  But she said that she loved all the parts except the bad ones.  Which I'm assuming means anything with Ursula.  I think she scared Aliyah.

Taya LOVES noodles.  I made her some Ramen Noodles and she is so funny to watch with them.  She'll grab a handful, stuff it in her mouth and whatever is still stuck to her hand she flings onto the ground.  Then she'll slurp up the noodles hanging from her mouth.  She smacks her lips and everything.  It's pretty funny.

The older 2 realized Taya was throwing food on the floor and rather than letting it go to waste they raced to see who could eat more.

cracks me up.

Aliyah started dance with her best friend, Laken.  They go to Premier Dance and as far as I can tell I think they're going to LOVE it.  There is also another friend that Laken knows and I think Aliyah is becoming friends with her pretty fast.

So excited for dance...

nice...

practicing her cartwheel after dance was over

the 3 friends...Aliyah, Laken, and Hallie

They don't let you watch while the girls are dancing.  :(  Kind of a bummer because I'd like to see what they're doing sometimes.  But that just left time for the adults to hang out in the entrance and chat for an hour.  Who doesn't love that?

It's a big day!

Today Xander started Pre-School!!! He has been waiting for this day since Aliyah started last year.

Aliyah took a picture of us right before he left.  It's a little bit of a close-up.

He gave me the thumbs up as we were walking down the street.

Xander with his teacher Miss Mary

He's just growing up so much I wanted to record a few things that he's been doing lately.
  • He thinks all Cadillacs are Transformers...Autobots, not Decepticons
  • He falls asleep in random places at random times
  • The other day he told me he was so tired he was going to shut his eyes for a minute.  I found him in his bed with the covers over his head.  So I shut his blinds and started walking out when he said, "Mom?"  I asked him if he wanted me to shut his door for his nap.  He told me, "Mom, I'm not napping.  I'm hidding."  Apparently his eyes were not tired.  He was just hiding.
  • If he's ready to leave to go anywhere he'll just get in the car whether you know it or not
  • practices his golf swing all the time
  • Asks me if the food he's eating will make his IronMan muscles grow.  Then asks me to feel them.
  • Asked me on Monday how you jump into a book.  Been watching too much Blues Clues I guess.
  • On Sunday the kids were up and being crazy while Jace and I were still in bed.  Then we heard Taya crawling around.  Jace got up and yelled out, "Taya!  Who got you out!?"  Xander yelled, "Us did!!!  Us did Dad.  We worked as a team and got her out!"  He was so proud too.
  • Says plillow, berella (umbrella), sanks or sank you (thanks), bananeosporin (bandaid and neosporin), flower pebbles (petals)
We love our little guy and can't believe he is big enough for preschool.  This is too crazy.

Today is also a big day for Squish.  She is 10 months old!!!

She's still the happiest little thing you'll ever meet and will smile at everyone.  Here's some things about her:

  • Loves to eat noodles

  • likes to hide in the kids closet and play with the hangers

  • stands up on everything and walks along it

  • can wear pigtails now  :)  so cute.

  • loves grass, but not to sit in...just to touch

  • will laugh at the kids no matter what they do

  • Makes whisper noises like "kwhooo", and "whoosh", and sometimes says "hi"

  • likes that grass in her toes

  • won't eat any food that she doesn't see you eating

  • loves when the kids sing her songs

  • If she falls asleep in her stroller her legs are always propped up...so funny.

  • makes funny faces

  • this is her first time standing up in her crib.  She was pretty proud of herself

  • still has 2 teeth

  • messy eater

  • shakes her head no while yelling

  • her first pigtail for church.  It kind of looked funny with the bow...o well.

  • loves to bounce...whether her jumping or you holding her and jumping

  • little trouble maker and gets into everything

  • so squirmy during diaper changes so I sing her "Patty Cake", "There was a little house", "BINGO", and "If you're happy and you know it" and instantly she stops and looks at me.  She even starts to clap with BINGO and Patty Cake
  • favorite toy to play with while I'm shopping: My wallet
  • Finally drinking from a sippy cup
  • scrunches her nose and breathes in and out when she's being funny
  • loves to play with Aliyah's barbies
  • Randomly will squeal and laugh when she wants attention
  • crawls EVERYWHERE
  • such a mama's girl...still
  • only has her binkie at nap time and bed time
  • has night terrors sometimes :(
  • straight hair...I have to work hard for some sort of curl.
And that's our little 10 month old.  She'll be 1 before I know it.
