I heard the kids jumping on a bed on Wednesday and went to find out where they were. They weren't in Aliyah's room or the guest room which are the 2 spots they usually jump...besides our bed, but that's on the other side of the house.

So, I peeked into Xander's room and there they were.

Now, I'm not such a fan of this crib that X has. But the one thing I like about it is that he can't climb in or out. :) Aliyah was ALWAYS climbing out of her crib, but X has never even attempted. That's because of the curved sides. Unintended genius by me. :) :) :)

But I forgot to think about the genius that is Aliyah. If she wants to do something she will. See...

a "hair"-y post

Xander got a haircut today.

You may be wondering why I would make him get a haircut when his hair looks so adorable and curly with all the gel in it.

You might ask, "Well, why would it ever look like that when people might see him." I mean, I try to keep my kids looking clean and well taken care of. The answer would be "Because his father hates the 'gel' look and therefore ALWAYS messes it up so it's a big fro-ey mess."

Sad, I know.

SOoooo, I took him to my friends to cut his hair today.

He was really good and only got antsy a couple times.

Well, His mama may or may not have been making funny faces towards the end to make him look in one direction. :)

And Xander may or may not have been copying his mama. :)

It might look the same as the first picture, but this is after an inch of hair was hacked off people.

the olympics

I LOVE watching the Olympics. I will admit that I like Summer Olympics better than Winter, but they are still fun to watch.

The other night we were watching the Olympics when the pairs figure skating came on. Aliyah and Xander both loved it and wanted more, but it was their bedtime. Aliyah we let stay up and watch some more on the couch, but Xander was too cranky to let do that.

So, the next night the men's figure skating was on so I told Aliyah there were skaters on TV. She went over to watch and started crying.

I asked her what was wrong and she said

"I don't like it."

I asked her why not because she loved it the night before.

Her reply: "He lost the Princess. Where's the princess?"

No wonder she liked the pairs...there were princesses. :)

another DI find

We took the kids to Jumpin Jacks today to get out some energy, but it didn't last very long. It looked like all of St. George was in there. There were just too many kids for Aliyah and Xander to have any fun. So, I got 2 free passes to come back later. :) We'll enjoy that this coming week.

So instead Jace took the kids into the DI. (I stayed in the car to crochet...I know, I'm addicted.)

A little bit later I heard "Mommy, Look what I got!"

Jace was pushing Xander on a big boy bike. {Insert huge, gigantic smile on Xander's face.}

Then we had to stop by the store to get some training wheels, as this bike didn't have any.

When we got home Jace cleaned the bike...



then got to work on those training wheels. The kids couldn't resist helping. They LOVE tools.

Now we're all set. Aliyah was just as excited for Xander and snuck in this pic just as I was taking it. She didn't understand why I would want a picture of just Xander. haha.




Jace took him for a few laps around the house and then they went outside.


I don' t know why it's so hard for kids to learn to pedal forward. Their feet just push on the brakes the whole time. And then to focus on steering. It's a lot for a 2 year old. He's trying, but he definitely doesn't have the determination of Aliyah. He only stayed outside for about 3 minutes and then wanted to come inside. He doesn't have it mastered yet, but I'm sure Aliyah will have him taught soon. She's already been riding around the house saying, "See Xan, this is how you pedal."

Relief Society Wii Tournament

Our stake has decided to do a giant Wii competition. So we had to have the preliminaries to decided who would represent the Quail Ridge Ward Relief Society.



This picture absolutely cracks me up. Jade could not figure out the remote and every time it went to the menu she would crouch down like that would help her. haha.


Playing tennis. I'm pretty sure Jade just threw out her shoulder and I was just having way too much fun. :) What can I say...I really get into the game.


Holly is just a Wii pro and rocked all of us. Here she is taking on poor Cindy who didn't stand a chance.

There wasn't a lot of people there, but we had fun with it. Holly is representing us in bowling and Kim will be representing for tennis.

"Krave"-in' something good

I discovered this place about a month ago



IT IS SO DELICIOUS! It's self-serve frozen yogurt...only 38 cents an oz. So, you can choose as many flavors as you want and as many toppings as you want. We took our friends there Friday night. Here's how it went down:

mischievious kids and birthday greetings

The kids have discovered the "candy section" of the pantry. It's been a couple of weeks since they have discovered it. Xander puts in his orders for Aliyah who then moves her pink chair into the pantry; stands on the chair and then climbs up a shelf to grab the treat.

Well, it's melt down day for Xander because Jace hid the candy in the cupboard above the microwave, and I put the chair out in the garage.

Sad times.

They know they are NOT supposed to do this. Here is an example of this morning...

Xander woke up and was yelling down the hall "Mom! I'm awake!"

Aliyah made it there before me.

I heard their conversation before I went in the room. It went like this:

A: Xan, are you awake?
X: Yah, I'm awake. Eeya (Aliyah) get me a sucker.
A: K Xander, say please.
X: Pweese.
A: K, I'll get you a sucker Xan.

X: [as Aliyah runs out of the room] DON'T TELL MOM!

Yah...they know.


On another note today is my sister's 27th birthday! (You're gettin' up there lady!)
I sent this home with my mom to give to her. I wanted to make this years present a little more personal. I got this idea from one of those crafty sites on the side of my blog. I went back to find it again and I have no idea where it was, so sorry whoever came up with this. They actually did it for a Valentine's Day gift, but I changed it up a bit.
