Cotton Days & Culinary Food Festival

April 27, 2013

It's the Annual Cotton Days parade here in Washington.  Xander's preschool gets to participate in the parade, so he got to ride on the school's float.  He was pretty excited about it.

And the girls were excited about getting candy.  :)

After the parade we decided to go check out the Culinary Arts Festival that was happening in St. George.  A bunch of local food places came together and had some samples of their food you could try.  There were bounce houses and tight ropes and swing sets from Lifetime. And we happened upon a face painter just there to make kids happy.  But we waited in line over an hour and half for the kids to get their faces painted.  Not worth it.  However, the kids did enjoy it.

The tight rope is a LOT harder than it looks.  The second you tried to move your foot the rope would move all over the place.

Such a long, fun day.  Look forward to next year.  :)

April 13 - travel day

Saturday: go home day.  :(

Had to get a picture with our room attendant, Orlin

And our waiters, Amarin and .........I can't remember the other one.
We ate breakfast in the Enchanted Garden before we left.

Then while Amy and Jace straightened out the bill situation we got to wait in the lobby.  The kids were real thrilled about doing that.

Once we got off the boat we had to wait for our taxi to the airport.  Xander found a lizard though.  That was exciting.

When we got the airport we just had more waiting to do...a lot more waiting.  The rest of my family (except Ryan) all had flights right away.  Ryan's was later because when we booked he didn't know if he would be in Texas or not for work.  Turns out he was going back to Salt Lake, but couldn't get on the same flight as everyone else so he waited around with us for a while.  We got to wait 8 hours in the Orlando airport with 4 kids.  That's right...8 hours.  We set up all our stuff right next to a moving walkway and the kids pretty much played on that the entire time.  It was a life saver.  Camdyn fell asleep for a bit, but other than that the kids did really great at entertaining themselves.

Xander did get in trouble once because when Jace looked back to check on the kids he was laying on the moving walkway on his back with his hands behind his head and his ankles crossed...totally relaxed and there was a line up of people behind him.  Funny, but very annoying for those people.  haha.

Jace worked and I took pictures...

FINALLY...we got to get on our flight.  I changed all the kids into their pajamas before we boarded so they could be more comfortable.  People behind us were pretty worried when we boarded since it was practically a red eye.  But the kids did great.  Xander and Aliyah slept.  I held Camdyn and she slept the whole time - super uncomfortable for me so I was in and out.  Taya whined when she was uncomfortable, but otherwise slept and Jace was kind of like me, in and out.  They showed a stupid movie...The Life of Pi.  I didn't have headphones, but it looked real dumb.

When we finally hit Vegas we were ready to be home.  We all took a pit stop in the bathroom and then we grabbed our bags and got in the van for home.  2 hours later we made it.  Phew.

Re-cap:
Disney Cruises are AWESOME!!!
Airplanes are hard with littles
So happy we went, but also happy to get home.
