Cotton Days & Culinary Food Festival

April 27, 2013

It's the Annual Cotton Days parade here in Washington.  Xander's preschool gets to participate in the parade, so he got to ride on the school's float.  He was pretty excited about it.

And the girls were excited about getting candy.  :)

After the parade we decided to go check out the Culinary Arts Festival that was happening in St. George.  A bunch of local food places came together and had some samples of their food you could try.  There were bounce houses and tight ropes and swing sets from Lifetime. And we happened upon a face painter just there to make kids happy.  But we waited in line over an hour and half for the kids to get their faces painted.  Not worth it.  However, the kids did enjoy it.

The tight rope is a LOT harder than it looks.  The second you tried to move your foot the rope would move all over the place.

Such a long, fun day.  Look forward to next year.  :)

Cotton Days

5/12/2012

Well, it's been the week of Washington City's Cotton Days full of lots of fun things to do including a parade.  Aliyah's preschool got to do a "float" and they invited all the kids to ride.  Aliyah wanted to do it, so we all went to the parade.

waiting for it to start

Jace decided to set up shop on the other side of the street.  But it actually worked out really well.  We were right at the beginning when people are more than willing to throw out handfulls and handfulls of candy.  And as a bonus, there was hardly anyone there.  :)

This guy walked right up to Taya and gave her a handfull of candy.  :)

Here comes the float

Here's a shot of Taya's bruised face.  :(

After the parade we didn't participate in any more of the Cotton Days activities.  I wish we would've but it was a bit hard with the baby.  Maybe next year.  :)
