Disneyland, here we come! {Day 1}

5-28-2012

So, we left for our week long trip to California yesterday.  We went with all of Jace's family, minus JD and his family.  We stayed in Vegas at Sam's Town last night.  I've never even heard of the place, but it wasn't bad.  We ate at a TGIFriday's and then the kids went bowling with Jeff and Jeanette.  So, today we left for California.  Jeanette got us a house to stay in that isn't that far from Disneyland.  In fact, we walk to Down Town Disney (like 1/2 a mile or so) and get in from there.  (In this first picture Xander is standing on the side of the house.  At night the fireworks from Disneyland are right above him.  Super close I say.)  It felt like a LONG drive to Anaheim, but we all made it in one piece and we're all excited to be here.

Today is actually a holiday...Memorial Day.  Probably not the best time to be in Disneyland, but we're heading out nonetheless.  We didn't go until around 2:00 to buy tickets.

Here we all are when we just arrived.

And we're off!

The kids took some pictures of some Disney stuff made from Legos

Once we got in we found Cinderella.  The girls were so excited to get a picture.

We went right to Buzz Lightyear and then Space Mountain.  Aliyah LOVED Space Mountain.  We waited in line F.O.R.E.V.E.R.  It was Jace, Me, Aliyah, Xander, and Jaxon.  So the entertainment factor was definitely there.  I was worried the kids wouldn't like it.  But in the middle of the ride Aliyah yelled out, "THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!"  So much fun and the grins couldn't stop.  Xander, on the other hand, didn't like it so much, but just because it was in the dark.

We made it to Toon Town as well.  We got to ride Gadget's Go Coaster.

And the wait for Mickey was super short.  This was actually the first time I'd been in his house.  It is so adorable.  Brittin even got to play the piano while waiting.

And Xander washed some clothes.

And finally...Mickey!

We visited Chip 'N' Dale's house

And for the first time ever I/we saw a parade.  The girls were split from the boys who ran to another ride.  So we stayed and watched the parade.  Usually I'm trying to get to a ride while all the other people watch the parade.  But this time we decided to do something the kids would like, so we stayed put.  And they really liked it.

And at the end of the day we had to get the picture by the Mickey Mouse flowers.

my babies and me

5-27-2012

We leave on our trip to California later today.  We're leaving the babies home.  Makes me sad, but I know the trip will be SO much easier without them.  So, I am going to squeeze them until Jace pries me away.
